Suncastle Greens: Maintenance
North Parade Bowling Greens CIC
A big and important update for you all.
Firstly you may have noticed that the organisation is now known as North Parade Bowling Greens CIC.
We became a Community Interest Company about 4 weeks ago.
It gives us a formal standing with local authorities and other organisations and allows us to access financial benefits from the tax-man. Always a bonus eh? 😃
Now for the really big news.
We have now signed the lease and all other necessary paperwork and we are now officially running the greens.
It has been a long 18 or 19 months of negotiation and sleepless nights but we have finally made it.
The greens are now safe for the next 6 years at least.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of those people that have supported me and my fellow directors whilst we have worked this through.
The EBF, without whose support and commitment we would have struggled, our fantastic green keeper Duncan who has been our rock and without whom we would not have got through it all, the people that have volunteered to take a part in the committee, the people from the two resident clubs for all their efforts and support with their volunteering and, last but not least, those of you on here who have been so positive and supportive.
Now it is onwards and upwards with a lot of hard work to get us where we want to be.
Stick with us!
Thanks,
Steve O'Dare
Chairman NPBG CIC.

Some excellent news.
This coming week the refurbishment and redecoration of the accommodation at the Greens begins.
It will hopefully be complete before the season begins but if it does over-run the resident clubs will need to work around it for a couple of weeks.
The doors are going to be replaced, all rotting wood renewed, the external and internal areas will be decorated and it should all be a much more welcoming place to play, officiate and manage.
I will continue to keep you updated on things as we go forward.
Best wishes, Steve.
